A diary entry
23rd January 2007

awakened by his alarm at 7.10am, kenneth decided to turn his handphone off and skip GEMS, the last one of the semester. Afterall his test was over and the last lesson was a revision, there was no harm in skipping right? Wrong it seems~ Murphy's law seemed to work unexpectedly true with him. A phone call at 11.30am woke him. It wasn't unexpected but it turned out that it was one of the most unexpected things he had fortune to hear that day. His friend and partner in crime, Kai, informed him that the CSW(Communications Skills for Work) Module test had been brought forward 3 hours, to start at 12.10pm. And so kenneth gatheredtogether all his energies and activated rush mode, in hopes of making the impossible journey in 40 minuntes. Just the journey alone would take 40 minutes. It was amazing that kenneth reached only 20 minutes late, at 12.30pm. Thankfully, the 3rd group went first, as the 2nd group was late too.
(;゚Д゚)

So my partner and i took the roleplay test(making a business phonecall, we got a disco man(I) and a sound engineer(Kai)) and came out of it with a "It was quite ok." Afterwhich they waited for their whole clique to finsh and go for lunch, during which kenneth was pestered consistently by marcus to go home(he wanted someone to walk with him~).

Foodcourt 4 they trekked, the twelve did. The same thing ate, kenneth did. Beside RM and val sat, did he. Lost it, he did.

Val rose and left after eating, admist a sea of suspicion. And soon after, everyone left too. Kenneth had to rush back home to grab his tennis racquets as it was already 4.30pm. Merilyn had arranged so that Court 6 was booked for them at 6pm. Unfortunately he was caught by the computer on his way out, thus delaying him for a good 10 minutes. With 2 raquets in hand, kenneth finally left his house with Yio Chu Kang as his destiantion. The uneventful journey there is nothing of interest so this part is skipped. Considering that kenneth was carry 3 books of "Saga of Queen Knight" with him, he deciced to message his friend, xian, to come pick them up or else... After he reached the tennis complex, he headed straight for the courts, as he had already changed at home. Almost right in front of him was the semi-skilled guy, who kenneth found out later was called Sidney. Only Merilyn and one of the Girl-friends were there. And so they started to play, using the house balls. With Merilyn and kenneth on one side, and the rest on the other. They played singles using one court, and to kenneth's dismay, both him and his partner played dismally. Kenneth looked wistfully on at the engaging game that merilyn and sidney were having.

Around halfway through, merilyn decided that it was time to switch partners, and kenneth tried his hand with sidney. Unfortunately for him, kenneth didn't play too well. If it was not up it was side, rarely did kenneth let sidney do anything other than serve. Well class then started at 7pm, where james started to teach the class how to serve, after a brief warm-up. James commented that the strong winds made it feel like hawaii, and if singapore had these winds, there would be no need to travel on holiday. But these winds brought with them the greatest bane of outdoor sports, rain. They endured dizzle. They endured the shower. But it was by james' word that they avoided the torrent. And so the ball-picking excercise began and concluded, the weathered warriors thromped out of the rain-stained battlefield. As they approached the gate, kenneth noticed a familiar figure in the safety of the building, his friend xian, with a closed umbrella in hand. Greeted they did, talked they did, until kenneth realised he was missing james' talk. And so after that, xian and kenneth walked together to the mrt, and they parted.
